Is your summer vacation coming up? If yes, then you are probably looking for the best beaches in Lefkada. Well, we have compiled a list of the ten best beaches in Lefkada that will be perfect for your next trip!
Afteli beach is a small, quaint little getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s perfect when you want some peace with your loved one or need a break. The water has a striking blue color that looks like it belongs in the Caribbean Sea instead of Greece! You’ll be able to rent sunbeds here. Afteli beach is a little-known gem with great coast for snorkeling. The old fisherman boats create a romantic atmosphere of this little paradise.
Porto Katsiki Beach
Porto Katsiki is one of the most amazing beaches on Lefkada Island. The turquoise water and enormous natural cliffs behind you will take your breath away, as well as its beauty during sunset hours when everyone gathers to admire it! Sunbeds are offered for rent at this beach, along with sun umbrellas and even a food delivery service. You can find paid parking on the top of the beach and an exciting staircase that will take you down to our beautiful, serene ocean shore. Nevertheless, another beach nearby isn’t too crowded but only accessible by boat or swimming through some waves.
Egremni Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Lefkada Island, with both sand and small pebbles. This beach used to be accessible by a long staircase (347 stairs) that have been destroyed due to an earthquake in 2015. Nowadays, people hike two or three kilometers through nearby villages before reaching Egremni Beach via boat tours from Agios Nikitas town near Nydri on the northwest coast of Lefkada island.
Egremni beach has always been known as being one of Greece’s most picturesque attractions because it features blue water and white sands mixed with small stones underfoot for pedestrians who like walking barefoot at this paradise-like location.
Kathisma Beach is a popular destination for travelers in search of that perfect beach vacation. The water here is so blue and warm, the sand feels like silk under your toes – this part of Lefkada will not disappoint! If you’re feeling adventurous, there are also plenty of activities to be found at Kathisma, including parachuting and various water sports; don’t forget about those delicious seafood dishes too! You can stay at the villas in Lefkada , go for camping in Kathisma beach or enjoy drinks from any number of bars while soaking up some sun by day or stargazing by night as well.
A large natural beach close to Kathisma Beach, Milos is an excellent spot for relaxation and one of the best places to stay in Lefkada. Unlike other famous Westcoast beaches, this one has no touristic activities, and crystal blue water with sandy cover conditions makes it ideal for peaceful rest. There are also nudist-friendly areas if you’re up to that! Accessible by foot or boat from Agios Nikitas, the only downside may be how far away this beautiful place can seem when you walk there on your own; but don’t worry about it too much as those views will keep you occupied!
You can start the walk in the pedestrian zone of Agios Nikitas right behind a tavern, and it will take you about 15-20min to complete the journey to the beach. The path leads on a hill above the village, so you have to watch your step or else trip over some stray cats! Once you’ve made it past these hazards, then be prepared for breathtaking views await – even if only from one direction (depending on where we’re going). Beware that this is not recommended during peak hours as it’s hot enough without adding walking uphill into the mix.
This is the perfect beach for those looking to escape but still want a little convenience. Located just 39km away from Agios Nikitas and close to Pefkoulia village with all its amenities like restaurants, cafeterias, tavernas, etc., this long sandy beach offers impressive scenery that would make you feel far removed from civilization. The beaches are not overcrowded, so it won’t be difficult finding your spot among the beautiful sands or crystal clear water of Plaka Beach!
Agiofili beach is a beautiful, turquoise-colored water beach with white stones close to Vasiliki town. It looks like Porto Katsiki due to its striking colors and shape that resemble the letter “U” just below the cliff – exactly like its bigger brother in Porto Katsiki! Accessible by boat (cruises from Vasiliki) or car along an unsealed road might be tricky at some parts. Paid parking has been closed since 2018, and you can only access the seaside if you have your refreshments for sunbeds/umbrellas available for rent.
Amouso beach is an excellent choice for those who are looking to enjoy the sea in all its glory. Amouzo’s white pebbles and crystal clear waters make it an ideal place for families with small children or anyone who enjoys swimming near sun loungers that can be rented just next door at a large restaurant. For those who like walking along the coast, there’s also plenty of opportunities; as one walks alongside this untouched coastline, never too close to cars, so you’ll always have beautiful views without worrying about any potential dangers lurking behind every corner. To reach the beach, you will need to take the main road from Sivota towards Vasiliki. Once in Marandohori village on your left-hand side near a marketplace is where you turn left for its nearest beaches of Kalamaki and Kalogonia.
